What to Expect

What kind of church is MGCC?

People generally want to know: what do you believe and what style of worship do you have? We are a Bible-based church with a wide ranging classic to contemporary style of worship. Our focus is teaching the Word in a way that is easily understood and can be applied to daily life. We share the gospel in such a way that people can experience the new birth and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is intimate and powerful. You can see our beliefs in detail under our welcome tab; just click on "What we believe".

To which denomination do you belong?

MGCC is a non-denominational, independent church. That does not mean that we are accountable to no one. Pastor Bill Young is ordained by and accountable to the Rhema Ministerial Association International in Tulsa, Oklahoma. MGCC is a not-for-profit, 501c(3) organization with a passion for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and teaching the Word of God throughout the Great Lake Region. We welcome people from every denomination and church background. Even if you have no church background, you are welcome to worship with us.

How long are your church services?

Our service starts promptly at 10:30 AM with praise and worship that normally lasts 20 to 25 minutes. We then share announcements and take up the offering. After the offering we dismiss the kids and youth to their respective ministry classes. The ministry of the Word usually lasts about 35-40 minutes. Our service normally ends before noon (children and youth are not released from their classes until a parent picks them up). After dismissal the staff is always available for personal prayer and or ministry. We also have refreshments available after the service in our reception area if you would like to meet the staff or just fellowship.

What type of ministry is available for my children?

Our children and youth department is staffed with people who have a heart to share the love of Christ and the Word of God to our kids on a level where they can receive. We use curriculum from Wille George Ministries, "Getting a Grip On the Basics for Kids and Teens" by Beth Jones and "Some Assembly Required" by Dana Johnson. Our staff uses puppet skits, DVD's, videos and arts and crafts as tools to communicate the gospel in a way that is relevant and exciting for kids and teens. Each of our children's ministry workers must undergo a criminal history background check. We always want to provide a loving and caring environment for our children. For more detailed information just click on our children's ministry link.

Can I get a CD of the Sunday message?

CD's of the messages are available immediately after the service in the reception area. Audio CD's are available for $3. First time visitors are entitled to a free CD of their choosing from our book and tape table located on the first floor of the education annex.

Does your church have a radio or TV broadcast?

Our "Faith Is a Lifestyle" TV broadcast aires on Erie Spectrum Cable channel 1021 on Sundays @ 3PM, Tuesdays @ 7:04PM, Thursdays @ 2:30PM and Fridays and Saturdays @ 7PM. you can also check out our YouTube channel.
